The Van Der Merwe family, 7th generation family vintners, have been growing grapes and making wine in the Breedekloof wine region since 1844. Their history steeps deep into these ancient floodplains and they have become pioneers in their field. The generational love shared for grape growing by cousins Schalk and Pierre have led to Merwida Winery becoming a hugely successful company.
