Since 1694 Rust en Vrede has stood peacefully among the vineyards of Stellenbosch. During the 1970’s the Engelbrecht family took ownership and became the first to specialize in the exclusive production of red wine. Rust en Vrede is undoubtedly one of South Africa’s premium wine Estates and is proud to be part of the excellence that is characterized by the wines from Stellenbosch and particularly, its family-owned, private Estates, who undoubtedly are the heartbeat of this magnificent region.
